Independent QuickBooks help — for problems inside your own file.

TechBrot is an independent firm of Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors. When the real problem is your books — reconciliation that won’t balance, months behind, a setup that was wrong from day one, migration damage, payroll errors baked into the file, reports that don’t match reality — that’s accounting work, and it’s what we do. It starts with a free file review and a written fixed-fee scope within 3 business days, delivered by a named Certified ProAdvisor. This is not Intuit, and it is not the place for Intuit account, billing, or subscription issues.

Read this first — we are not Intuit

TechBrot is an independent accounting firm of Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors. We are not Intuit. For account, billing, or subscription issues, contact Intuit directly Reaching this firm does not reach Intuit. “Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor” is a certification this firm holds from Intuit; it does not mean affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship. This team cannot access your Intuit account, change your subscription, reset your login, or patch the QuickBooks software.

Independent help for your own file (this firm): books that won’t reconcile, months behind, a setup done wrong, migration damage, payroll errors inside the file, reports that don’t match reality — the accounting inside your QuickBooks. Fixed fee, named ProAdvisor. Intuit, for the account and the software: Intuit login, password, or two-factor; subscription, renewal, refund, or billing disputes; QuickBooks software bugs, outages, or Intuit-side error codes — this firm has no access to your Intuit account. This page is informational; it is not Intuit support.

TechBrot is an independent accounting firm of Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors. We are not Intuit, not QuickBooks Customer Support, and not QuickBooks Live. “Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor” is a certification this firm holds from Intuit; it does not mean affiliation or endorsement. There are two different problems people call “QuickBooks help.” If yours is the software or your Intuit account — login, password, billing, subscription, renewal, refund, a product bug or outage — that is Intuit’s, and only Intuit can access it; contact Intuit directly. If yours is the accounting inside your own file — books that don’t reconcile, are months behind, were set up wrong, were damaged in a migration, or produce reports that are simply wrong — that is the work this independent firm does, on a fixed fee. The full split is below.

§In one paragraph

What independent QuickBooks help actually is.

Independent QuickBooks help is exactly what it sounds like: help from an independent firm — here, a firm of Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors — rather than from Intuit. It is the right call when the thing that’s broken is the accounting inside your own company file: a reconciliation that never balances, books that are months behind, a chart of accounts and setup that were wrong from the start, balances that came across mangled in a migration, payroll errors baked into the file, or reports that simply don’t match reality. Intuit supports the software and your account; none of that touches the numbers and history inside your file — that’s accounting work, and it’s what we do. It starts with a free file review, becomes a written fixed-fee scope within 3 business days, and is delivered by a named Certified ProAdvisor. If your issue is really an Intuit account, billing, subscription, login, or software problem, that’s Intuit’s to fix and only Intuit can access it — go to Intuit support rather than start an engagement that can’t help. And if you need IRS representation or active tax filing — which requires a CPA or EA — we’ll say so and refer you.

§Inside your own file

What we fix that Intuit’s support won’t — or can’t.

Intuit supports the product and your account. None of that touches the accounting inside your file — the numbers, the history, the structure. That is exactly where these problems live, and it is what an independent ProAdvisor firm is for.

Errors inside the file

Numbers that are simply wrong.

Miscategorized transactions, broken opening balances, an account register that doesn’t foot, undeposited funds piling up. Intuit can confirm the software works; only an accountant can find and fix where the accounting went wrong. We diagnose it in your own file.

QuickBooks error codes
Reconciliation broken

It won’t balance.

Bank and credit-card reconciliations that never tie out, prior periods re-opened, duplicate or missing transactions, a beginning balance that drifted. We rebuild the reconciliation properly so the file matches the bank.

QuickBooks cleanup
Messy or behind

Months (or years) behind.

Books that were never kept up, half-categorized, or abandoned by a bookkeeper who left. We catch the file up and reconstruct what’s missing on a fixed-fee cleanup scope — then hand back books you can actually trust.

QuickBooks cleanup
Bad setup

Wrong from day one.

A chart of accounts that doesn’t fit the business, sales tax configured wrong, items and integrations set up so every report is off. We re-architect the setup inside the file rather than papering over it.

QuickBooks setup
Migration damage

Balances broke in the move.

Data that came across mangled from Desktop to Online, or from another platform — balances off, history truncated, lists duplicated. We find what the conversion broke and repair the file.

Fix conversion balances
Payroll in the file

Payroll posting wrong.

Payroll liabilities that don’t clear, wages mapped to the wrong accounts, multi-state or withholding errors recorded in the file. We correct how payroll lands in your books — the accounting, not the Intuit subscription.

Payroll management
§How it works

Free review, written scope, a named ProAdvisor.

No mystery, no open-ended hourly meter. The path from “something’s wrong in my file” to a fixed-fee fix is the same every time.

Step 1

Free file review

Send us your QuickBooks file (or grant access) and a short note on what’s wrong. A Certified ProAdvisor reviews the actual accounting inside it — no charge, no obligation.

Step 2

Written fixed-fee scope

Within 3 business days you receive a written scope: what’s broken, what we’d do, the fixed fee, and the timeline. If it’s really an Intuit account or software issue — or needs a CPA/EA — we say so and point you there instead.

Step 3

A named Certified ProAdvisor

If you engage, one named Certified ProAdvisor owns the work end to end and does the fix in your file. The person who scoped it is the person who delivers it.

§Fixed fee, scoped in writing

What it costs.

Every engagement is a fixed fee agreed in writing before any work starts — no hourly surprises. The free file review is what sets the number; the ranges below are the typical bands the scope lands in.

  • Monthly bookkeeping — $400–$2,500+/mo. Ongoing fixed-fee management once the file is right — a reliable monthly close, CPA-ready statements, and a named ProAdvisor for continuity. The range tracks volume and complexity.
  • Cleanup — $1,500–$15,000+. Project-based repair of a file that’s behind, unreconciled, or structurally wrong. Fee tracks how many months and how much damage; scoped in writing after the free review.
  • Focused error or diagnostic scopes — typically $1,200–$3,000. A bounded fix for a specific problem — one broken reconciliation, a setup correction, or migration-balance repair — rather than a full cleanup.

Ranges are typical, not quotes. Your written fixed-fee scope follows the free file review. Fees cover the accounting work inside your own QuickBooks file; they do not include Intuit subscription or product costs, which you pay Intuit directly.

§Page review & standards

Independent-firm standards.

This page is maintained by the Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor team at TechBrot Inc., a Delaware-incorporated independent ProAdvisor firm. Certification claims and ProAdvisor credentials cited here are current; Intuit’s public ProAdvisor directory lists active ProAdvisors for verification. Pricing reflects canonical fixed-fee ranges and is updated when those ranges change. TechBrot is an independent firm — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Intuit Inc. It provides no Intuit account, billing, or QuickBooks product support, holds no Intuit phone line or hours, and does not file tax returns or represent clients before the IRS. What it does is the accounting work inside your own QuickBooks file.

Independent QuickBooks help, in five questions.

Is this Intuit’s official QuickBooks support?

No. TechBrot is an independent accounting firm of Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors — not Intuit, not QuickBooks Customer Support, not QuickBooks Live. For Intuit account, billing, subscription, login, or software issues, contact Intuit directly; this firm cannot access your Intuit account.

When is independent help the right call?

When the problem is the accounting inside your own file — books that won’t reconcile, are months behind, were set up wrong, were damaged in a migration, carry payroll errors, or produce reports that are wrong. Intuit won’t (and can’t) fix the numbers and history inside your file; an independent ProAdvisor firm does.

How does the engagement start?

With a free file review. A Certified ProAdvisor looks at your actual QuickBooks file, then sends a written fixed-fee scope within 3 business days — no obligation. If we engage, a named Certified ProAdvisor owns the work end to end.

What does it cost?

Always a fixed fee agreed in writing first — no hourly meter. Typical bands: monthly bookkeeping $400–$2,500+/mo; cleanup $1,500–$15,000+; focused error or diagnostic scopes $1,200–$3,000. The free file review sets your exact number.

Are you affiliated with Intuit?

No. Independent Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor firm. We hold active Intuit certifications, but TechBrot is not owned, operated, or employed by Intuit Inc. QuickBooks and Intuit are registered trademarks of Intuit Inc.

Before you reach out.

Is this Intuit’s official QuickBooks support?
No. TechBrot is an independent accounting firm of Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors — not Intuit, not QuickBooks Customer Support, and not QuickBooks Live. “Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor” is a certification this firm holds from Intuit; it does not mean affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship, and this team cannot access your Intuit account. For account, billing, subscription, login, or software issues, contact Intuit directly at quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/.
How is this different from calling Intuit?
Intuit supports the QuickBooks software and your Intuit account — logins, billing, subscriptions, product bugs. This firm fixes the accounting inside your own file: reconciliation, cleanup, setup, migration damage, payroll posting, and reports that are wrong. Put simply, Intuit fixes the software; an independent ProAdvisor firm fixes the books. If your problem is the account or the software, Intuit is the right and only place; if it’s the numbers in your file, that’s us.
Are you affiliated with Intuit?
No. TechBrot Inc. is an independent Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor firm. We hold active Intuit certifications across QuickBooks Online, Desktop, Enterprise, and Payroll, but TechBrot is not owned, operated, or employed by Intuit Inc. QuickBooks and Intuit are registered trademarks of Intuit Inc.
How do I know whether my problem is the file or my Intuit account?
A quick test: if you can’t log in, were billed wrong, want to change or cancel a subscription, or the software is crashing or throwing an outage, that’s your Intuit account or the software — contact Intuit. If you can get into QuickBooks but the numbers are wrong — it won’t reconcile, the books are behind, reports don’t match, balances broke in a migration — that’s the accounting inside your file, and that’s what we fix. If you’re not sure, the free file review will tell you which it is, at no cost.
What does independent QuickBooks help cost?
Always a fixed fee agreed in writing before any work begins — never an open-ended hourly meter. Typical bands: monthly bookkeeping $400–$2,500+/mo; cleanup $1,500–$15,000+; focused error or diagnostic scopes typically $1,200–$3,000. The free file review is what sets your exact number, and the written scope is yours to accept or not — no obligation. Fees cover the accounting work in your file; your Intuit subscription is separate and paid to Intuit.
What do you need from me to start?
Two things: access to your QuickBooks file (a backup, or accountant access — we’ll guide you), and a short description of what’s wrong. You don’t need to prepare documents, have a CPA on the call, or commit to anything before you see the written scope. The file review is free and no-obligation.
Do you also handle taxes or represent me to the IRS?
No. TechBrot is a bookkeeping and QuickBooks ProAdvisor firm, not a CPA or EA firm; we don’t file tax returns or represent clients before the IRS. What we do is make your books accurate and CPA-ready, then coordinate with your CPA or EA, who files. If you need tax filing or IRS representation, we’ll tell you on the review and point you toward the right professional.
